FAQ
FAQ
How are names chosen?
Eligible names are shuffled with crypto.getRandomValues (Fisher–Yates) before winners are taken. Each eligible name has equal probability in that draw.
What is elimination mode?
When enabled, names picked in earlier rounds are excluded from future draws until you reset history.
Are duplicates handled automatically?
The tool detects case-insensitive duplicates and offers to dedupe while preserving first occurrence order.
Can I pick more than one name?
Yes. Set the winner count to any number up to the available pool size.
Is my list uploaded?
No. Lists and history stay in this browser unless you copy or export them yourself.
Do saved lists sync across devices?
No. Saved lists are local to this browser.
Is this a certified raffle or contest tool?
No. It is a casual random name selector. It does not create audit packages for regulated contests or prove legal compliance.
Where does the built-in name sample come from?
An optional top 5,000 U.S. given-name sample from SSA birth counts (2015–2024). Prefer pasting your own roster for real classes or events.
