How to use the random name picker
Step-by-step instructions for Random Name Picker.
Fair Name Picker is a random name selector for teachers, meeting hosts, facilitators, and casual giveaways. Enter one name per line, review duplicates, then choose one or several winners. Elimination mode removes already-picked names from later rounds. Lists and history stay in this browser. Selection is random among the eligible names you entered—it does not verify identity, eligibility, consent, or contest rules, and it is not a certified raffle service.
How it works
- Paste or type one name per line in the list field.
- Review duplicate warnings and dedupe if you want each person counted once.
- Choose how many names to pick and whether elimination removes past winners from the pool.
- Reveal results, copy them, or save the list under a name for reuse on this device.
Examples
- Classroom turn: Paste student names, dedupe them, and pick one presenter.
- Team order: Use Random order to shuffle the whole list for speaking sequence.
- Casual giveaway: Draw three winners with elimination so each name appears once.
Limitations
- The picker cannot verify identity, eligibility, consent, or whether a list was entered correctly.
- It does not provide legal contest compliance, audit logs for regulators, or certified raffle documentation.
